Terms of Service

This covers scampedia.net only. The VerifyGuard iOS app has its own Terms of Use at officialverifyguard.com/terms.html, including its subscription and billing terms.

1. What this site is

Scampedia is a free, public reference of scam types and patterns. Some entries are researched and written by an AI system on a daily schedule, using web search to find real, currently-reported scam trends and citing the specific source it drew from. Every automated entry goes through automated checks — a real, resolving citation; a check that the citation actually supports the claims made; and a second, independent pass that flags any specific fact not backed by that citation — before it publishes. By using this site, you accept that despite those checks, no automated system is perfect, and you should use your own judgment before relying on anything here for an actual decision, especially anything involving money, legal action, or personal safety.

2. Not legal, financial, or safety advice

Content on this site is informational. It is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney, financial advisor, or law enforcement. If you believe you're actively being scammed or have already sent money, contact your bank, card issuer, or the relevant authorities directly and immediately — don't wait on anything you read here.

3. The "Report a Scam" form

You may submit a scam report through the form on this site. Don't submit anyone else's personal information without their consent, and don't submit anything false or submitted in bad faith to harass a real person or business. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to a submitted report.

4. Acceptable use

Don't scrape, republish, or redistribute this site's content at scale without permission; don't attempt to disrupt or overload the site; and don't use anything on this site to plan or carry out a scam against someone else.

5. Content and accuracy

We work to keep entries accurate and up to date, and correct real errors when we find them or you report one. Scam tactics change quickly, and an entry may describe a variation that's no longer current, or miss a new one entirely. Report anything that looks wrong to verifyguardsupport@gmail.com.

6. Intellectual property

The Scampedia name, logo, and site design belong to us. Individual entries may describe or reference real companies, products, or government agencies by name for identification purposes only — that isn't an endorsement or affiliation claim by either side.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THIS SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT CONTENT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM A DECISION MADE IN RELIANCE ON THIS SITE'S CONTENT.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top reflects the last change. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the update.
