This covers scampedia.net only — the scam-database website. It does not cover the VerifyGuard iOS app, which has its own Privacy Policy at officialverifyguard.com/privacy.html.
Browsing the scam database, Learn articles, or search. None of this is collected or stored anywhere. This site is static pages — reading an entry, searching, or browsing doesn't send anything to us beyond the normal request your browser makes to load the page.
The "Report a Scam" form. If you use this form, we collect whatever you type into the details field, and an email address only if you choose to provide one — it's optional. That's it; there are no hidden fields.
When you submit the form, its contents are emailed directly to our support inbox (verifyguardsupport@gmail.com) so a person can read it. The report is not saved to any database — it exists as that one email and nowhere else on our systems. If you included your email address, we may reply to follow up; if you didn't, we have no way to reach you and no way to identify who sent it.
This site does not use tracking cookies, analytics scripts, or advertising trackers of any kind. We don't know who's reading which articles, and we're not trying to.
This site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which sees standard web server request logs (like IP address and browser type) the way any web host does — that's GitHub's infrastructure, not something we collect or have access to ourselves. The "Report a Scam" form's contents are relayed through SendGrid, an email delivery service, purely to get that one email to our inbox.
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child submitted a report with personal information, contact us and we'll delete the email.
Don't want to share anything? Don't use the report form — everything else on this site works with zero data collection. If you already submitted a report and want it deleted, email verifyguardsupport@gmail.com and we'll delete that message.
If what this site collects ever changes, this page will be updated to match — the date at the top will always reflect the last real change.
